How it works

The first months and years of a dog’s life are a crucial time of learning and development. That’s why we offer ongoing support as your dog moves through different developmental stages.

Unlike traditional puppy schools that run for a set number of weeks, our classes are ongoing. You can start at any time and attend any or all classes for as long as you’d like.

We know life is busy, schedules change, and every dog learns at a different pace. Our flexible system allows you to continue building skills, confidence, and real-world experience while accessing support when you need it most.

Our Classes

Our classes are for pups aged 8 weeks (baby puppy) to approximately 6-8 months.

We focus on getting pups off to the best start possible by teaching real world skills. Our puppy pre-school and ongoing puppy classes are designed to build confidence, coordination, communication, and resilience.

When a pup moves to Junior or Gentle Junior depends on the dog and is done in consultation with the trainer.

What happens in puppy class

We focus primarily on creating a great relationship between puppies and their owners and creating a solid foundation of life skills. While we do some informal obedience in our puppy classes such as sit, down, and heel, we believe puppy training is so much more than that! 

Our puppy curriculum covers a wide variety of things: 

• engagement, motivation & communication
• body handling & preparation for vet visits
• foundations of lead walking & recall
• basic obedience
• development of physical coordination & body confidence
• social skills & manners
• how to advocate for your dog in public
• body language
• safe vs unsafe play
• prevention of resource guarding & separation anxiety
• troubleshooting of current problems
• and so much more!

Puppies have a short attention span, so we rotate frequently between exercises, activities, discussions and supervised social play. 

Our flexibility allows us to adapt each class to the puppies present that day.
