Two pathways to training at Urban Dogs HQ

We offer both Group Classes and a Behaviour Support Program.

1. Group classes

  • Single 1.5 hour session with a trainer
  • Share your expectations & goals
  • Discuss any problems you might be having
  • Learn about our training philosophy
  • Then you can come to class*!

Why do we do this private assessment?

  • As many classes as you like
  • For as long as you want
  • Join in at any time
  • Train when it suits you
  • Pay as you go
  • Come back whenever you wish.

2. Behaviour Support Program

Some dogs may not be suited to a group class environment. Our Behaviour Support Program offers an individual approach which is specific to you and your dog.

3 private sessions: $540

  • A private assessment (1.5 hours)
  • Two private training sessions (45 minutes each)
  • Homework and guidance between each sessions

Additional private sessions: $120

Our private sessions are for existing students that need a bit of extra support. This might be due to reactivity, resource guarding, or other behavioural issues that require one-on-one work and homework between sessions.

Why we do a private assessment

Every dog who comes to UDHQ starts with a private assessment. This one-on-one session lets us get to know you and your dog as individuals, and make sure that you are on the right track with good habits, management, and behaviour at home.

This also means everyone going into group classes is on the same page — even experienced owners find the personalised advice invaluable.

Private assessments are also about safety. They give us time to understand your dog’s developmental stage, manners, and social skills so we can adapt our classes where needed. For example, a puppy with limited exposure to other dogs may begin in a safe space with extra support.

After the assessment, dogs join classes based on their developmental stage and individual needs, not just age. With a wide range of training options available, we’ll help you choose the best fit for you and your dog.
